I attended HTS in 1971-1972 and I often wonder what happened to all those kids so long ago.. because,even though I wasn't Catholic they befriended me. I was sent there for something I didn't do as a punishment by my family and when I finally went back to California, my family was gone and I ended up living in an abandoned car. Father Downey told me something that stuck with me all these years..."it's okay to be alone because you aren't really, God is always there". Thank you Father Downey where-ever you are and thank you Sister Mary Ellen for sitting and weeping with me when I couldn't find any words. You both found a place in my heart, you will never be homeless!
